Casualties reported in western Nepal, where the quake occurred, say officials

At least six people were killed and five others were injured after a powerful earthquake struck of magnitude 6.6 struck Nepal, officials said on Wednesday.
Nepal’s National Earthquake Monitoring & Research Center said an Earthquake of magnitude 6.6 occurred around Khaptad Baba Ashram (Khaptad National Park) of Doti District on early Wednesday morning.
According to the local police, six people were killed in Nepal’s Doti district in the earthquake.
Bhola Bhatta, deputy superintendent of police in Doti said eight houses collapsed due to the earthquake.
Nepal’s Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba tweeted that he has “instructed the relevant agencies to arrange immediate and proper treatment of the injured and the victims in the relief and rescue in the affected areas.”
Media reports said the quake showed tremors in New Delhi and neighboring areas.
